tacit knowledge

Short Definition
Knowledge that is difficult to articulate or formalize, often based on personal experience or expertise. It is intuitive and often shared through practice or direct interaction rather than written documentation.
Relevance
Tacit knowledge refers to unspoken, experiential knowledge, often undervalued in tech spaces. Indigenous and Black communities often emphasize relational forms of knowledge that are difficult to codify, challenging the mainstream emphasis on written data. Tech must find ways to honor and integrate this knowledge respectfully.
