network

Short Definition
A collection of connected devices, systems, or individuals that communicate with each other to share data or resources. Networks can be physical (e.g., computer networks) or social (e.g., professional networks).
Relevance
Networks are crucial for connecting people and resources but often rely on infrastructures that reinforce colonial capitalism. However, they are also vital for mutual aid and organizing. Many Indigenous, Black, and disability justice communities have used networks to foster decentralized connections and community care. These practices can offer a blueprint for tech that prioritizes collective well-being over profit, though it's important to recognize the diversity within these communities regarding tech use.
