screen

Short Definition
The physical display of a device (such as a computer, phone, or tablet) or the visual output area in which content is displayed.
Relevance
Screens are fundamental for engaging with digital content but contribute to e-waste and may not be designed for all users. While they are indispensable for education and employment, they also represent a point of tension. Some individuals within disability justice communities promote the development of adaptive and low-tech alternatives that minimize harm. Yet, screens are often necessary for navigating modern digital landscapes, revealing a complex relationship with technology.
