Short Definition
A movement advocating for the return of Indigenous lands to Indigenous peoples, along with the restoration of sovereignty, cultural practices, and stewardship over those lands. It seeks to address historical injustices of land theft.
Relevance
The Land Back movement seeks the return of Indigenous land to its rightful stewards. In tech, it translates into advocating for digital sovereignty and ensuring that tech systems respect Indigenous rights, from data management to resource extraction, while promoting resistance to colonial digital practices.
