Glossary

data centre

Short Definition
A physical facility used to house computer systems and related components, such as servers and storage, to store, manage, and process data for large-scale operations.
Relevance
Data centres are the backbone of the digital world but consume vast amounts of energy. In an equitable, sustainable tech future, there needs to be a shift toward green energy solutions for data centres. Decentralized data centres, run by communities, can help reclaim data sovereignty while reducing ecological impacts.
