community consultation

Short Definition
A process where community members are engaged in decision-making or planning by providing their input, ideas, or feedback. It ensures that initiatives or changes reflect the needs, concerns, and values of the community involved.
Relevance
Community consultation is essential for developing tech that genuinely reflects the needs of marginalized groups. When done collaboratively and led by Black, Indigenous, and disabled communities, it fosters authentic dialogue and conflict resolution, ensuring technology is shaped by those it most affects.
