Could You Understand Me Leaving? Showcase
April 3–4, 2026
Opening reception: April 3, 6–8PM
Gallery hours: April 4, 11–6PM
A home exists as a reflection of those who've lived in it. Spaces share the personalities, dreams and lives of those that have, meticulously over years, adorned its walls and dictated its layout & purpose. How does a home dictate the way we act, how does it affect the perception of our memories? In Could You Understand Me Leaving? an empty house screams with a blaring alarm, begging for attention over and over. Asking what can we infer about the life and the motivations of those that occupied this space. Who implemented this alarm? Who was it intended for? What are they trying to tell us? Can we turn it off? How can I ignore it?
InterAccess and Heckhole Studio are proud to co-present a showcase of Shihab Mian’s game art, developed during the Heckhole Studio 2025 Emerging Artist Residency.
On March 14, Mian will host an accompanying artist talk, Could You Understand Me Leaving?.
The Heckhole Studio 2025 residency opportunity has been made possible by the Government of Canada and IMAA’s Digital Skills for Youth program.
