Tool Introduction: Getting to Know Our New Ceramic 3D Printer

In-person at InterAccess (32 Lisgar)

Registration Fee: FREE as part of Open Studio

Building off the curiosities explored during the recent event, 3D Printing with Biomaterials, participants will collaboratively experiment and explore what is possible with the printer alongside IA staff.

In this 3-hour session, participants will learn:

  • What tools and materials are available to make and use with the printer
  • A few file-prep workflows using either Rhino or Cura
  • Talk through potential limits and challenges of use
  • How to print simple shapes
  • How to properly clean-up/disassemble the printer

Since this is a new tool to the studio, we are not considering this a tool “training” so much as a collaborative exploration. Our staff want to use this group session as a way for us to learn together how we might expand on our current knowledge. Come learn the basics of how the printer works, play, and a makerspace special: troubleshoot the unknown. This will be the final Open Studio before the new year, we are looking forward to sharing it with you!!

Open Studio is a free, weekly, drop-in session open to the public held within our studio space. We offer sessions that include casual co-working, thematic meetups and occasional events.
