InterAccess is a registered charity with a mandate to support art forms that integrate technology, including electronic, interactive, digital, and new media practices. Annually we run many exhibitions, workshops, and community events in our gallery, classroom, and production studio spaces, including our annual Vector Festival.

This is a very exciting time for the organization with our recent move to 32 Lisgar Street, which expanded our capacity for programming and audience engagement. Our community is growing and we have several exciting arts and educational initiatives in the pipeline.

Who are We Looking For?

We're seeking enthusiastic individuals who are eager to contribute their expertise, energy, and ideas to support InterAccess’s growth. As a member of our Board of Directors, you'll help guide the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring its vitality and long-term sustainability.

We welcome expressions of interest from individuals with:

  • Skills in human resources, development, fundraising, or law
  • Experience in new media arts (digital projection, electronics, gaming, bio-art, XR, creative tech etc.) and a passion for ideas, conversations, programming, and critical investigations into the intersection of art and technology
  • Interests in strategic organizational growth, partnerships, and profile building in media art and creative technology sectors

What’s Involved?

Board members attend ten regular meetings per year (including the Annual General Meeting) and contribute up to 15 volunteer hours annually outside of meetings. Depending on interest and expertise, volunteer activities may include:

  • Serving on our Programming or Education & Studio Advisories (3–4 meetings/year)
  • Leading or supporting workshops, Open Studios, or other community events
  • Helping with studio inventory, equipment maintenance, or tech support
  • Providing professional expertise in areas such as law, human resources, strategic planning, or fundraising

Our Commitment to Equity

InterAccess recognizes that access to art and technology spaces is not always equitable. We are committed to inclusive representation and reducing barriers to participation. We actively collaborate with organizations that support equity-seeking communities and work to ensure diversity at all levels of community, staff, and leadership.

We strongly encourage applications from people who identify with marginalized communities and intersecting identities, including (but not limited to): Black, Indigenous, and racialized people; women; LGBTQ+ individuals; non-binary and gender non-conforming people; newcomers and immigrants; and individuals living with disabilities or mental illness.

How to Apply

If you're interested in joining our Board, please send a letter of introduction and your resume to admin@interaccess.org by Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

We look forward to hearing from you!
