Truth’s Entropy is a text-based exhibition where the permanence of memory teeters at the edge of temporal inevitability. Mora’s artworks draw from the artist’s experience of geographic distance to invite contemplation of a subject's relationship to family and home.

InterAccess, in collaboration with the 2004 Subtle Technologies Festival, presents the premier public exhibition of Infrasense, a web robot installation created by Robert Saucier (Montreal) and art collective KIT (Canada, UK, France).

Instant Places is a series of installation performances that work with locally gathered audio and video to transform the host gallery into an immersive space. The raw materials of the particular place and time are transformed through a process of improvisation using live sampling, microphone and mixer feedback, voice, contact pickups and effects. The video work deals with the transformation of recently shot and edited footage, using the real-time manipulation tools VDMX, Isadora, and MAX/Jitter.

The Story Project is an exhibition that brings together works by women from diverse cultures and lived experiences that use photography and digital media to tell their stories and express their visions for social change.

Booth is an exploration of the time it takes to summarize a life or capture the spirit of an era. The exhibition includes Pierre Tremblay's Portraits in a Sentence and Skawennati Tricia Fragnito's 80 Minutes, 80 Movies, 80s Music, two artworks that use the minute-long video as a framework for self-expression. In each case, the artist has invited friends and acquaintances to use clearly established parameters—the single sentence, the song fragment, the rule of one—to fashion their contribution to the project.

Over the past few years there has been an explosion of interest among visual artists in the popular culture of music's diverse yet ubiquitous manifestations. Re-play explores the ways in which established and emerging Canadian artists have taken up popular music, its forms of musical and visual expression, in such mediums as drawing, sculpture, video, performance and installation.

One part dance, one part art and one part tech, The Music Room is an unusual project. A strange and beautiful blend of old media and new technology, The Music Room is best described as a contemporary dance and interactive media project.

Curated by Katie Varney and Jessica Fung. We are a generation who grew up in a tuned-in and fully wired world. As infants, technology enveloped us, wrapping its circuit-board blankets around us, making its way into every part of our psyche. The fact technology has acted as our overbearing parents continues to make it difficult for us to obtain an objective viewpoint.

The line that separates us from the machines we create has become blurred. Our self-proclaiming notions of intelligence, awareness, identity, agency, and embodiment are no longer attributed solely to the human body. And instead of identity, we possess characteristics of connectivity that are most notably manifested through Embodied Conversational Agents.

The Skinjob exhibition is a part of Social Software, a series of investigations into the social implications of code in contemporary society and its effects on identity, race, representation, communities, post-colonialism, utopian ideals, social activism and cultural politics. Skinjob, the first event in the series, appropriately begins with skin that defines our embodied boundary. The three artists in Skinjob use technology to decode the rich terrain of the body's covering.

InterAccess Electronic Media Arts Centre in partnership with Subtle Technologies and Year Zero One present Substance, an exhibition of interactive installations. The exhibit focuses on two works that stimulate participation and response in the fluid, dreamy interface between the virtual and physical.

Curated by Field Office. Signals from the surrounding environment - transient personal information from parking lots, restaurants, city streets - are captured in a butterfly net receiver. Output data appear as beautiful clusters of sound-emitting light. Immediate and remote space are both transformed by Haruki Nishijima's invention of an imaginary ecology.

Alpha Girls is a collection of three "cyber performances" by internationally acclaimed Canadian performance artists Kinga Araya, Louise Liliefeldt and Tanya Mars. In collaboration with each artist, filmmaker Midi Onodera has directed and designed a DVD presentation of each performance that provides a set of unique interactive possibilities.

Knowledge of the body as the reversible surface of social life and self-identity is the shared concern that brings the works of Kinga Araya and Stelarc into dialogue. In both cases the artist ardently pursues this knowledge through the use of prosthetic devices that create awkward new shapes and complex new sets of gestures.

Curated by Marko Tandefelt in collaboration with Bryn Jayes. As the datasphere becomes increasingly dense, many fear the loss of face-to-face communication and, along with it, much of what we think of as distinctively human. The exhibition F2F: New Media Art from Finland includes nine wired, participatory installations that explore the insistence of the human within the realm of the machine and the influence of the human-machine interface on our social selves.

Between Time and Space presents the work of six emerging artists - Josh Avery, Michael Graham, Adrianne Kulling, Galen Scorer, Nicholas Stedman and Mary-Anne Wensley—each of whom uses computer, electronic or mechanical media to explore the question of presence in a world increasingly shaped by new technologies.

For a moment a thing exists between two states, suspended. Lifted off the ground, it defies gravity. Placed in an arbitrarily measured space, it shifts its scale. En route between its source and its destination, it moves on airwaves or is telepresent. Mid Air is an exhibition of sculptural works that draw our attention to air as a medium of sound and vision, and as an elemental life force.

Wide is an exhibition angle that draws attention to the pervasiveness of hybrid practices and encourages their nomadic inclinations. It creates a temporary network that can be entered through any one of eighteen portal spaces. Travelling the city, encountering the situations that the exhibition comprises, the Wide audience follows a flexible circuit in which each concentrated moment rebounds back to the collecting question: What happens to the screen when its shards are everywhere?
