Cripple Media

About
Cripple Media (formerly Cripple Magazine) is a Gen Z-led media company created by and for young disabled people to reclaim the narrative around disability in mainstream media. Founded in 2018 by Emily Flores, Cripple Media challenges the dominant voices in disability discourse—often led by able-bodied adults like doctors and researchers—by putting young disabled voices at the forefront. Through stories, reporting, and creative content, Cripple Media provides an authentic, impactful platform for young disabled creators to share experiences and perspectives that are often misrepresented or overlooked. The outlet is dedicated to training and empowering young disabled media professionals, aiming for honest representation and systemic change in how disability is understood and portrayed. Entirely self-funded, Cripple Media is committed to compensating its creators and sustaining a community that speaks directly to the lived realities of young disabled individuals.
