Carla Rice

About
Carla Rice is a community-engaged scholar whose research is dedicated to bringing diverse groups together and creating welcoming spaces that foster personal and social change. Her work emphasizes not only engaging communities but also creating community with those historically displaced or excluded, including people with disabilities who have been marginalized through institutionalization and sterilization, and urban Indigenous peoples alienated by colonial state practices. Over the past decade, she founded the Re•Vision Centre and the Revisioning Differences Media Arts Laboratory (REDLAB), which explore the power of creative, arts-informed methods to advance social well-being, equity, and justice in Canada and beyond.
