Ashley Jane Lewis

About
Ashley Jane Lewis is a Black new media artist and creative technologist whose work spans interactive installation, bio art, social justice, and speculative design. Her practice explores Black cultures of the past, present, and future through both computational and analog mediums, including coding, machine learning, fabrication, data weaving, microorganisms, and live performance. Drawing inspiration from organisms such as slime mold and mycelium, Lewis uses science as a creative lens to imagine more equitable futures. She is one of the inaugural recipients of the Toronto Metropolitan University Black Scholars Award.
