An Duplan

About
Anaïs Duplan is a trans* poet, curator, and artist whose work spans literature, teaching, and cultural programming. He writes across poetry, essays, and experimental forms, often exploring Black futurity and queer experience. Alongside his creative practice, he teaches postcolonial literature at Bennington College and has held appointments at several other institutions. His curatorial projects and fellowships have connected him to major cultural institutions in the United States and abroad, with a focus on experimental documentary and community-based art. In 2016, he founded the Center for Afrofuturist Studies, an Iowa City residency supporting artists of colour.
