Buseje Bailey

Buseje Bailey is a visual artist. She earned her MFA at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, and her BFA at York University. She works across a variety of media that includes painting, video, photo and sculptural installation work. Her work has been shown nationally, and internationally in group exhibitions. Most of her professional art career has been focused on the hybridity of her art practice in relation to her Afro-Jamaican/Canadian experience and identity. In addition to her art work, she delivers courses on African Art in the Diaspora and works on community based women's projects. "My work deals with the experience of being an African in the Diaspora - this site has been the focus of my art and life practice."
