VIRTUAL DRIFT

I figure I've drifted through enough jobs that I'd
have made management by now, if I'd only stuck to
any one of them long enough. But the long
haul never seemed worth it when working for a
living has always been justified as necessary to
support your art. Sometimes you get to asking when
the cart got before the horse.

I've drifted through enough art schools to know
that the issues are bigger than any curriculum and
that an ivory tower is no place for a shiftless
soul.

I've drifted through enough relationships and
friendships too. I've met a few people who've stuck
even when I wouldn't, when a person is too ignorant
to know to count himself lucky.

I'd be interested in hearing about your experiences
of drift, or your thoughts about the drift project.
