On December 16, 1997 a new attorney was retained in the case of Khalfani X. Khaldun. If there is a prisoner inside Indiana'a prison camps deserving justice and access to his freedom it is him.
This murder case occurred in December of 1994 and there have only been a few things occur which neither were a resolution nor closure to this case. A trial was set for July 7, 1995, but was ultimately changed by a series of continuences that were launched by the attorney Atley C. Preri who from all indication was trying to work hand in hand with the state to send Khalfani X. Khaldun to death row.
On December 17, 1997 a visit from a Terrence P. Kirby was under way that included the exchange of critical documents/other stuff needed to get more familiar with the goings on of the case.
Khalfani states that the visit went well and it looks a lot better. The sum total to cover the case is 6,400 dollars and any other investigations done after that may call for additional fees. soon a motion for speedy trial or motion for an emmediate dismissal of all charges will be filed. This will be done not only for strategical purposes, but to force the State to come on with it or lr let it go, then Khalfani will be emmediately released.
Khalfani requests that all supporters write in to his attorney and assure him/fim that they are doing the right thing by aiding him towards his freedom. Contributions would be helpful too because Khalfani recently lost his mom on 9/6/97 and (2) brothers all of which happened in a 90 period. His Defense committee/fund are literally in a process of rebuilding due to the losses of his (3) family members...So please do your part by calling and faxing him on Khalfani's behalf.
Khalfani has been in prison since 1987 when he was 17 years old. He has changed his life and the lives of others due to his politcal developements.
