VOLUNTEER BLOG REPORTERS
(three positions available)
The Toronto International Film Festival Group is seeking Volunteer Blog Reporters for the Toronto International Film Festival®. This volunteer position is an excellent opportunity for an emerging writer or arts journalist who would like to develop her/his craft. It is an opportunity to work on a daily blog for one of the world’s leading film festivals.
Description
Volunteer Blog Reporters will assist Programmers with TIFF blogs, writing and reporting on films screening at the 2008 Festival. The Blog Reporter will attend screenings with a programmer, or if requested, will be sent to another screening to cover it. Other duties may include taking photos, shooting videos, and interviewing filmgoers and contributors.
Responsibilities:
• Writing daily blog entries
• Data entry for posting blogs
• Convert/format images for online use
• Regularly update and maintain blog content
• Check for consistency with blog content
• Report daily to the Interactive Services Assistant and Content & Community Coordinator
Minimum requirements:
• Knowledge of online interactive communities an asset
• Excellent attention to detail
• Editing and writing experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Interest in film/arts scene
• MS Word
• Home computer or laptop with Internet access
• Photo editing experience
Preference will be given to candidates with:
• Flexible schedule
• Journalism background
• Blogging experience
• Their own digital camera/video camera
