Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with possible flexible time during academic term depending on class schedules (e.g. 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).

Purpose:
This is a full-time sessional position (August 15 to May 15). The purpose of this position is to provide technical support to Fine Arts Cultural Studies (FACS) students and faculty using computing facilities in the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA). Responsible for maintaining Fine Arts Cultural Studies computing labs and related equipment. Provides occasional technical support to the Director of FFA Computing Services.
Education:
Completed post-secondary education in the fine arts with an emphasis on digital media, or equivalent. University degree preferred.
Experience:
Two years’ related experience: Maintaining, installing and upgrading networked Macintosh workstations, software and related components/devices; computer usage demonstration; preferably in a post-secondary environment.
Skills:
Demonstrated working knowledge of Macintosh computer and fine arts applications relevant to new media art in a networked environment; knowledge of a variety of fine arts related applications from areas including photo manipulation, sound editing, video editing, sound and music creation, animation, web page creation, database, authoring systems and the integration of media generated from these applications; knowledge of technical equipment and processes including current computer input/output devices; devices and current technological processes such as virtual reality; demonstrated skill/ability in the following areas: dealing courteously and effectively with people; clearly explaining and demonstrating use of equipment, software, and safety procedures; accurately interpreting and summarizing information; training and supervising; exercising initiative; good organizational skills, including the ability to work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines.
