If I understand corectly, you want the out put of one astable to turn the other on and off, correct? All you need to do is connect the two outputs to the inputs of an AND gate, and the output will look like this: astable 1, 8 khz: ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| astable 2, 10hz ____------_____-----___ output of AND gate____||||||||||||_____|||||||||||___ If you want to use CMOS schip, a 4081 is an AND gate, use pins 1, 2 as inputs, pin 3 as outputs. The positive supply goes to pin 14, pin 7 is ground, and you must tie the unused inputs, 5,6,8,9,12,13 to ground. Not that the chip does not have the current drive capacity of the 556- you will probably need some sort of output driver like a transistor to drive any sort of load like an LED. ----- Original Message ----- From: jab ber <cr1mp@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <arg-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, October 27, 2002 5:46 PM Subject: ARG: bending a 556 to my will. > A!
