plug in/batteries?

i just purchased a 'wireless room to room a/v sender' on sale at Radio
Shack. I have a project in mind could use wireless transmitting portable
video cams 
 The unit comes with power supplies..plug in  'class two' transformers,
400mA for the receiver and 200mA for the transmitter. What sort of battery
or batteries would be suitable as portable power supplies that won't fry the
