Not anything like that, myself. The feature list looks great.
Anybody who gets their head around the FreeRTOS programming could
incorporate one of these as the only controller in a freestanding piece.

At work I'm now designing with another board: an ARM9 based board
(Technologic ts-7400
<http://www.embeddedarm.com/epc/ts7400-spec-h.htm>) that runs Debian
or other Linux. Board cost is also around US$149. The big
differences from makezine's board are:
  - Linux instead of FreeRTOS, ncluding all the languages, utilities,
etc. that usually come with Linux.
  - The TS-7400 lacks the array of I/O devices that makezine provides.
The TS-7400 would need a super port expander such as our AID board .

I notice that Interaccess can now provide keys for access off-hours.
I may finally finish my Atmel ATmega16 AID design.

	Cheers, Mel.
