As those close to the project know I have been dealing with some all consuming "life problems" and haven't been able to commit the time that keeping the AID project vital requires. InterAccess would like to see the project continue, so all that is required is the rallying of some human resources. Stefan is hard at his thesis right now but is keen on moving AID to the Atmel processor because of the availability of open/free development tools which have failed to fully materialise for the PIC and Mel has already ported the code for this. Stefan has also suggested that we look at collaborating with some of the more recent projects that are addressing similar needs to AID, like Gadgetboard and many others, to consider what a next step might be for the AID project. Erin is studying in New York this year and is busy spreading the word there. A workshop in NYC has been on the cards for a while but the logistics haven't resolved. A new contributor, Daniel, was working on a visual scripting interface to program the AID firmware just before InterAccess moved and is interested in continuing with this. After getting the server back online the next step could be a review of the current status of the project and a discussion of where it should go from here. Feel free to post your suggestions, comments, dreams and criticisms to this list. This break in the development presents us with a good opportunity to stand back and consider the good, the bad and the ugly.
