I downloaded the v1.4 hex file and burned it to a PIC. I had a struggle getting the bits of equipment together and I didn't have much time to do tests so this week I will be continuing. The PC Tower definitely has something wrong with it. Don't trust it if you are having problems, especially with things plugged into the serial port. The laptop has its own problems of a popup nature. Someone "unwise" has taken to using the laptop for P2P file sharing it seems. Steve Wood brought a AID main board PCB he etched using ordinary laser toner as the resist. It looked really good. He popped one of the AID PICs into it and it worked first time... ...then it didn't and then it did again... He was on the Tower PC. Hey Steve send us a post about how it worked at home and details of the toner PCB process. Mel Wilson debugged a problem he was having with his Atmel port of the AID code. He has now posted to his blog at aid.interaccess.org that everything is working now. Nice. I will be leaving around 4 PM this Sunday to do the Halloween thing so get there early if you are coming by.
