: Sent via the Art Interface Device mailing list: aid@interaccess.org : Use your "Reply All" to reply to the list, "Reply" for private response Minutes: Minutes AID Group Meeting February 8th 2004 Held at: Interaccess Meeting commenced at 1:30pm Present: Ben, Mike, John, Stefan, Tim, Yeshua What we accomplished: * Stefan and Tim were able to reclaim the lost knowledge of how to burn the bootloader! * Ben and Mike decided that we're going to create a forum of tasks on the AID drupal site so that we can track and attach responsibility to certain tasks * John has agreed to take on the development of the "AtoD bend sensor" worked solution for the launch: - Switch Reader (Ben's responsibility) - A/D Bend Sensor (John's responsibility) - Polaroid Rangfinder (Rob's responsibility) - Sensbar-120V relay box (Mike's responsibility) - Audio/Video Playback (Ben's responsibility) - Motor Driver (Yeshua's responsibility) * The AID team has decided that Proteus is the official AID-sanctioned shematic program. (It has a free version, but is not GPL and win32 only. We could find no GPL projects of a simar quality for pcb design and schematic capture) * Stefan has taken on the responsibility of creating the content shell (format) for the worked solutions. This is the organization of the "worked solution" distribution files. Stefan, I think it makes sense that you also do the content shell for the whole dev kit in tandem, so that they both fit together. * We looked over the AID mainboard and peripheral schematics and realized a few issues, #1 they need to be revised and redone in proteus with the correct chips. #2 There are issues with the design of the boards that we revisited. Does the /w line need to be pulled up? Should it be pulled up on the mainboard or on the peripheral board side? Do we need the pullup on the /r line? Should we remove it? (this pullup is on the peripheral side) #3 The aid mainboard schematic needs to be redone including all AtoD, pwm, I2C lines connected to header. * After looking at the input and output board designs that they are too different to have one PCB design work for both, so there will be seperate designs for the input and output peripheral boards. (In the future it could be possible to redesign AID to use a input/output card in one design using a transceiver.) * We have decided that PCB designs for the aid peripheral boards in unlikely for the launch, but if anyone is inclined to work on it, please make yourself known! * The 10bit AtoD and "bulk write" commands will be deffered in subsequent agendas. (This are not launch priorities) * Yeshua has started the design of his motor driver peripheral schematic. Next week we will: * Continue with our assigned taks * Plan out the "Getting started" guide for AID: (based on Stefan's structural recomondations) - How to get a chip programmer? Links to schematics/manufacturers. - How to build a programmer? - Construction notes (tools, solder tips, external resources) - Part and tool suppliers. - How to build a mainboard? - How to build a test-board? - standalone AID test application - links to worked solution pages (on community site) * Deal with issues with releasing AID, in terms of community credit and copyleft. * Testing Demo applications to make sure all is still working. Adjournment: 5:30 Next Meeting: February 15th, 1:30 at Interaccess Suite 444, 401 Richmond Street. : messages saved at http://www.interaccess.org/aid/list : unsubscribe/help requests to mailto:Majordomo@interaccess.org
