It is the software running on the PIC which uses the data. That point may seem a bit pedantic, but since the person writing the software presumably knows what types of devices he/she will connect at which addresses, I don't see the problem. I don't think AID is attempting to be flexible enough to allow people to plug and unplug peripheral cards from the bus without modifying the software running on the main board. (Is that right?)
